The week between my unsuccessful Class #2 and Class #3 was pretty productive for how much I tend to procrastinate. I ended up figuring out a couple of things:
- I had too many ideas for a project and wasn’t sold on any of them. So I came up with a new idea (“You are a real gem”) that felt like me, since I say this phrase all the time.
- Having something to doodle on all the time is super helpful. I used 3×5 note cards for all my ideas this week.
After going through several drafts of my “You are a real gem” phrase, I finally felt like I lettered something I loved.
I headed to class and met Thy there. I was the only one who was able to come the last class for some reason. Great for me, because Thy and I discussed my project one-on-one.
I wanted to know the options for printing since I could easily use these as Thank You cards. I’m partial to letterpress, because of the Lifelong Learning class I took earlier this year and how letterpress looks and feels. Thy gave me some contacts on how to go about printing my cards. She is a wealth of information and knows people everywhere since she works in the industry. Bonus!
What a fun class–it really calmed my Type-A personality down and stretched my creative muscles out . And I’ll actually have a finished product to show for it!
