Greece Day 7: Santorini: the heat is on!

Planes, buses, and now ferries! We enjoyed our first hydrofoil ride today, taking us across the Aegean to Santorini. The ride was comfortable, air conditioned, and came with a full coffee bar! Upon arrival in Santorini, we met our bus driver who weaved his way up the caldera wall to Fira, our home for the next three nights. Santorini is a fiery island being a volcano and all, but the temperature today reached an astounding 43 degrees Celsius (which is HOT in Fahrenheit). Luckily we were able to drown our discomfort in our hotel pool, hydrating our spirits with the delights of the pool bar.

After another memorable Mythical Happy Hour, we did what most pilgrims come to Santorini to do: watched the sunset! Perched above the remains of the great volcano, we enjoyed sweeping caldera views from our dinner spot. The heat of the day finally began to dissolve with the sun into dusk. And we finally began to quit sweating. Kali nichta everyone (good night!).
