We now realize that Tim and Jane’s idea of our trip is not only to see the stages of London and some of the best plays of the season, but to put London itself on stage. Boy! Do they do a good job!
Tim took us on an excellent walking tour of Westminster Abbey area through St. James and Green park, past Buckingham palace on day one, but really topped it off the following day guiding us through Westminster Abbey. Highlights of the Abbey include the coronation chair, graves of Darwin and Newton, amongst various kings and queens. We were able to go into the restricted area of Edward the Confessor’s shrine, where the tombs of Henry V, Richard II (just to name a few) are.
They days fly by with visits to the Tate Museum, Portobello Road, a back-stage guided tour of the National Theater, loads and loads of good food and excellent company in our fellow Go Learn travelers.
