Today’s stage had several hard climbs, one of which right out of town of Puente la Reina – a rude welcome to the Camino! It was then that we understood we have arrived to our suffering. Impressive yet hard to ride on where stretches of Roman road still forming parts of today’s Camino stage. The pilgrimage route may be a thousand years old, yet Romans built a road about two thousand years ago and Celtic tribes far before any Romans traveled the Camino with purpose. Many Celtic sites remind us of that fact today.
